CARFAC~ Canadian Artists' Representation/Le Front des artistes canadiens

CARFAC is the association of professional visual and media artists in Canada. They believe that artists, like professionals in other fields, should be paid for their work and share equitably in profits from their art. By ensuring that artists are fairly compensated for the valuable contributions that they make to society and that artist rights are respected by those with whom they engage in business, CARFAC is a crucial partner in making the business of art equitable.

We are growing with our networking communities - we share Canada and our Canadian Culture together. It is our goal to network with fellow Canadians, improve our economy, promote tourism, share ideas to help preserve our culture and make our country better.”

Ted Harrison’s Artist Retreat Society (THARS)

The Ted Harrison Artist residency program is intended to give visual artists an opportunity to concentrate on the research, development, and production of a project or body of work in a remote and inspirational setting.

In the spring of 2005 I spent 8 weeks at this incredible retreat on Crag Lake in the Yukon. During this time I made most of the work for Elusive Containment. Anyone interested in applying should check out this website. I whole heartedly recommend it!!!

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity | Leighton Colony Residency

In 2008, I was fortunate to be invited to the Banff Centre for Arts-Leighton Colony as one of their artists in residency. Located in a beautiful, secluded, wooded area on Banff Centre campus, the Leighton Artists Studios inspire and accommodate creative practice

With serene forest views and thoughtfully designed interiors, the Studios offer an environment that is intense and stimulating; a location free of daily pressure and distraction; an ideal space for creativity and intense productivity. The Leighton Artists Studios offer artists the ability to delve into their work as a solitary retreat, as well as the option to engage within Banff Centre's larger artistic community.
