Janet Moore.JPG

Janet Moore studied at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, the Emily Carr College of Art and Design in British Columbia and the Simon Fraser University Summer Institute Intensive Program in British Columbia. She has worked as a professional visual artist for the past 40 years. Over time Moore has explored many forms of expression including sculptural installation, painting in oil and acrylic and more recently in mixed media/cold wax/collaged paintings. She is the recipient of a number of awards from Canada Council, the Yukon Government and the Shelburne County Arts Council in Nova Scotia. As well, her work is included in the Canada Council Art Bank, the Yukon Government Permanent Art Collection, the Yukon Arts Centre Collection, and the City of Whitehorse Collection. In 2002, Moore received a Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee medal in recognition of her community service and active participation in arts education over many years.
